Car 53 rolled and Stuart just went over the top of it

The car continued to roll and so I managed to capture this shot of Stuart in mid-air. This image has appeared many times in various publications all over the world.

Stuart ended up on his side but car 53 ended up back on its wheels

Action on the back straight at Belle Vue
Mike Whittakers car was launched into the lamp post which deflected him skywards knocking the lamp off the top before coming vertically down. He didn't know that his leg was out of the car till he saw this picture!

Nelson and Starter's Rostum destroyed
Walter, the starter, is seen expressing his displeasure at the chap with the screwdriver whose job it was to look after the fence!
The Nelson track was built around a football pitch. It had four straits and four corners but by the end of the evening - it was a circle!
The Nelson fence did its job.
Jack Ollerenshaw's car lost it's roof.
There was defintely an engine and gearbox in here when we started!

Prestatyn, North Wales
Stock cars ventured into North Wales for a season on the inside of the large trotting track which is now Pontins. The car took the fence post competely out and snapped the steel rope.
